Dinner Decor for Veterans Day

By David Kraft on October 27, 2017 in Veterans Door. 0 Comments

Every Veterans Day, we gather to honor those heroes in our community who served in the U.S. military to protect and defend our country. In Louisville, we're fortunate to call many of those veterans friends, neighbors and family. And on or around November 11, we acknowledge their incredible efforts and bravery publicly with parades and observances. We may also be honoring our favorite patriots closer to home, around our own dinner table. Here at Nanz and Kraft Florists, we've got a variety of floral arrangements just perfect for your Veterans Day dining table. Read More about Dinner Decor for Veterans Day

Perhaps you've already celebrated the season's biggest fruit at the Louisville Jack- O-Lantern Spectacular (if you haven't gone yet, head on over!). It's time now to turn your attention to the season's boldest bloom, the mum. Though it's November's official flower, mums start popping up on doorsteps and in entryways in October, a sunny symbol that Fall is here. At Nanz & Kraft Florists, we love Fall's marvelous mums, and have a bevy of arrangements to choose from so that you too can Fall up your home. Read More about Fall’s Marvelous Mums

It's never too early in the season of giving to start doling out the gifts, or so we think here at Nanz & Kraft Florists. And since Halloween is such a kid-centered occasion, a time of magic and mischief, it's the perfect opportunity to send your favorite ghost or ghoulie a surprising treat that doesn't involve sugar. Halloween gifts can afford to be playful and often come topped off with some spooky decor. While you'd never add a fake spider to your roses in February, there's no reason not to add a bewitching element to your blooms in October. Read More about Halloween Gifts & Spooky Decor

Sweetest Day Flowers Show Kindness

By David Kraft on October 3, 2017 in Sweetest Day. 0 Comments

Sweetest Day has been celebrated in the Midwest for nearly 100 years, the creation of a group of businessmen in Cleveland, OH in the early 1900's. The inaugural event consisted of handing out candy and small gifts to shut-ins and orphans, and the day has evolved to include any acts of kindness - although giving candy is still entirely appropriate! We also love the idea of giving flowers, as flowers are known to increase happiness and enhance well-being. With such sweet benefits, why wouldn't you call Nanz & Kraft Florists?  Read More about Sweetest Day Flowers Show Kindness

Flowers for the Perfect Homecoming

By David Kraft on August 31, 2017 in Homecoming Flowers, Prom. 0 Comments

Homecoming is a time for alumni to revisit old stomping ground and reunite with old friends; and for current students to create new memories. Whether your favorite part of the weekend is the football game, the parades or the big dance, Nanz & Kraft Florists have the formal flowers you'll need to make the event truly special. Where Did Homecoming Come From? The NCAA maintains that the first-ever homecoming festivities took place at the University of Missouri in 1911.  The head of the athletic department invited alumni to "come home" for the annual game against the University of Kansas. When over 10,000 alumni arrived to enjoy the rivalry - as well as to attend speeches, parades, rallies and a formal dance - they knew they were onto something. Many of the same events are still a part of annual homecoming weekends across the country.  Read More about Flowers for the Perfect Homecoming

Sending Grandparents Day Bouquets

By David Kraft on August 25, 2017 in Grandparent's Day. 0 Comments

Grandparents Day is a special holiday which was created with two goals in mind. The observance was officially established by Congress in 1978, but the original vision for the day came from Marian McQuade, a West Virginia mother of 15 and grandmother to many. Her dream was to set aside time for grandparents to impart wisdom, tell stories and share legacy with the younger members of the family; and for the younger generation to have the chance not only to learn from their elders, but to have an appreciation for the history of their family. At Nanz & Kraft Florists, we love any opportunity to promote family and togetherness! If you are looking for Grandparents Day bouquets and gifts to celebrate this special occasion, our team has put together an online collection sure to provide you with some great ideas.   Read More about Sending Grandparents Day Bouquets
