Homecoming is a time for alumni to revisit old stomping ground and reunite with old friends; and for current students to create new memories. Whether your favorite part of the weekend is the football game, the parades or the big dance, Nanz & Kraft Florists have the formal flowers you'll need to make the event truly special.
Where Did Homecoming Come From? The NCAA maintains that the first-ever homecoming festivities took place at the University of Missouri in 1911. The head of the athletic department invited alumni to "come home" for the annual game against the University of Kansas. When over 10,000 alumni arrived to enjoy the rivalry - as well as to attend speeches, parades, rallies and a formal dance - they knew they were onto something. Many of the same events are still a part of annual homecoming weekends across the country. Read More about Flowers for the Perfect Homecoming »

Grandparents Day is a special holiday which was created with two goals in mind. The observance was officially established by Congress in 1978, but the original vision for the day came from Marian McQuade, a West Virginia mother of 15 and grandmother to many. Her dream was to set aside time for grandparents to impart wisdom, tell stories and share legacy with the younger members of the family; and for the younger generation to have the chance not only to learn from their elders, but to have an appreciation for the history of their family.
At Nanz & Kraft Florists, we love any opportunity to promote family and togetherness! If you are looking for Grandparents Day bouquets and gifts to celebrate this special occasion, our team has put together an online collection sure to provide you with some great ideas. The gemstone signifies the presence of the divine and has a celestial association. Although the gem occurs in many colors, it is the most intense sapphire blue which is the most valuable and the most sought after.
Did You Know? The sapphire is the third hardest mineral on the Mohs scale, and is sometimes utilized for commercial purposes such as optical components, windows, and crystals for wristwatches. Read More about September Sapphire Birthdays »

In the 1960's, Joseph Goodwin bought his wife a transistor radio, and told her he did so "just because". The simple gesture inspired a family tradition that endured for decades, and began to spread throughout his California community. 50 years later, National Just Because Day still credits its beginning to that humble gift. Goodwin was once quoted as saying that he wanted the day to celebrate life, family and leisure time. With that spirit in mind, August 27 is the perfect opportunity for you to offer a gift, make a gesture, or try something new. It doesn't matter how you recognize the day, just make sure there is no real reason, other than "why not?".
At Nanz & Kraft Florists, we send flowers for special occasions every day. But we also know that when someone receives a floral arrangement for no reason other than they are loved, it makes a beautiful impact. Read More about Flowers Delivered ‘Just Because’ »
