If you're traveling over hill and dale this Thanksgiving to spend the holiday in someone else's home, you're in good company. Last year, 50 million people did the same, traveling at least 50 miles to gather round the table with the ones they love.
We at Nanz & Kraft Florists also think you may have lucked out: hosting Thanksgiving is an enormous, dare we say, thankless task. There are so many steps involved in planning a formal, multi-course meal, and that's not even talking about the execution of it. And while you may have been asked to contribute an item to the holiday table, expressing your gratitude toward your host requires a little more. Read More about Thanks In A Basket »

Every Veterans Day, we gather to honor those heroes in our community who served in the U.S. military to protect and defend our country. In Louisville, we're fortunate to call many of those veterans friends, neighbors and family. And on or around November 11, we acknowledge their incredible efforts and bravery publicly with parades and observances. We may also be honoring our favorite patriots closer to home, around our own dinner table.
Here at Nanz and Kraft Florists, we've got a variety of floral arrangements just perfect for your Veterans Day dining table. Read More about Dinner Decor for Veterans Day »

It's never too early in the season of giving to start doling out the gifts, or so we think here at Nanz & Kraft Florists. And since Halloween is such a kid-centered occasion, a time of magic and mischief, it's the perfect opportunity to send your favorite ghost or ghoulie a surprising treat that doesn't involve sugar.
Halloween gifts can afford to be playful and often come topped off with some spooky decor. While you'd never add a fake spider to your roses in February, there's no reason not to add a bewitching element to your blooms in October. Read More about Halloween Gifts & Spooky Decor »

Sweetest Day has been celebrated in the Midwest for nearly 100 years, the creation of a group of businessmen in Cleveland, OH in the early 1900's. The inaugural event consisted of handing out candy and small gifts to shut-ins and orphans, and the day has evolved to include any acts of kindness - although giving candy is still entirely appropriate! We also love the idea of giving flowers, as flowers are known to increase happiness and enhance well-being. With such sweet benefits, why wouldn't you call Nanz & Kraft Florists? Homecoming is a time for alumni to revisit old stomping ground and reunite with old friends; and for current students to create new memories. Whether your favorite part of the weekend is the football game, the parades or the big dance, Nanz & Kraft Florists have the formal flowers you'll need to make the event truly special.
Where Did Homecoming Come From? The NCAA maintains that the first-ever homecoming festivities took place at the University of Missouri in 1911. The head of the athletic department invited alumni to "come home" for the annual game against the University of Kansas. When over 10,000 alumni arrived to enjoy the rivalry - as well as to attend speeches, parades, rallies and a formal dance - they knew they were onto something. Many of the same events are still a part of annual homecoming weekends across the country. Read More about Flowers for the Perfect Homecoming »
